In Montana on the Clark Fork ONLY guides are required to have a Fishing Access Site Permit (FAS Permit). This IS NOT a guide license. It is a permit that allows commercial guides to use public river access sites.
FAS Permits are administered by Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks. FAS permits can be purchased online or in person.
DO NOT order a FAS online if you will not be at your current address for at least 3 more weeks. When you complete the process a temporary tag is printed while the permanent permit is mailed to your address. As well DO NOT use ROW's address as it is a Montana Address and the system will identify you as a MT resident and this could be troublesome in the future.
FAS Permits can be purchased online here:
Once you have signed in or created a new account you want to purchase the FAS Permit.
As well FAS Permits can be purchased in Superior, Montana, where our outpost is located at Castles IGA, the local supermarket.
